Part of our third day in New York was watching ‘The Lion King’ on Broadway. It’s a musical based on the Disney movie of the same name, the third-longest running and highest grossing Broadway musical of all time, and it’s famous songs include ‘Hakuna Matata’, ‘Circle of Life’, and ‘Can you Feel the Love Tonight’. Before we went to New York, I have been discussing with my parents how much I wanted to watch something on Broadway, no matter what the show was. Since I already watched Wicked and Les Miserables in Manila, I suggested to watch Phantom of the Opera since it is a classic Broadway show and the prices are reasonable. With my parents not being huge Broadway fans, they knew that Phantom was really dramatic and long so they wanted to watch something upbeat, which is why we booked for 3 tickets to ‘The Lion King’ instead.
Hey guys! I have already shared with you our experience during our first and second day in New York. Now, I’m going to tell you what we did on our third day. We met with some of my mom’s friends outside our hotel, and they drove us to a restaurant on 5th Avenue called ‘8 1/2 Brassiere’. It is a restaurant that serves buffet, and they treated us for breakfast.
After falling in love with the musical about 4 years ago, I waited for the moment when Les Miserables would finally come to Manila to showcase its marvelous beauty. Luckily, it was announced late last year that the Australian production would be coming to the country + imports from the other productions of Les Mis, such as Earl Carpenter from New York to play Javert, and our very own Rachelle Ann Go to play Fantine. I was really happy to be able to watch the April 1 show at 8 pm in the Solaire Theatre.
I promised to write a review of this movie the day after my previous post, and of course I failed to comply once again. Well better late than never right? Here’s my short review of “Into the Woods” (1/10 of my Disney Movie Challenge).
Are you a fan of fairytales? Well even if you feel old for them, deep inside your love for them will never fade. All of us have a favorite story, such as Cinderella or Red Riding Hood. So what if there was a musical movie that combined all of your favorite fairytales together? That would be called “Into the Woods”.
Hi guys! I’m Lizelle Cruz and this is my very first post. I’ve always loved writing, but I usually do fiction, such as short stories and drama scripts. Now that I would like to take my writing skills to the next level, I decided to write factual stuff and share it with you, the lovely internet users. I would like to start off with the first memorable experience that I had this year.
