The Big Apple: Day 1

Hey guys!! After going through 5 states, (California, Vegas, Arizona, Florida and New Jersey), I am now going to share with you the last part of our trip: New York. I have been to New York once in 2011, but we didn’t stay too long there. We would visit from New Jersey, look at some sites, then head back. I always dreamed that if I come back to New York, I would make the most of it by going to attractions we haven’t seen before, watching a Broadway show, and just simply walking around like Β a New Yorker. For our recent trip, we stayed at The Big Apple for 4 days, and for now I will talk about what we did for our first day.

From my aunt and uncle’s house in New Jersey, they drove us to Manhattan, one of NYC’s five boroughs. We first visited the Grand Central Station, one of the most famous terminals in the city. I was in awe how beautifully constructed the station was.

Our next stop was Madison Square Garden which is known as the “World’s Most Famous Arena”. It is the place where most of the famous artists and bands hold their concerts. Although I was not able to watch any concert there, I was still happy that I was able to see the venue. When we went there, it was actually the graduation of students from NYU so that was pretty cool.

Afterwards, we looked around for a place to eat lunch. I slept during this time and when I woke up, we were in Harlem! We then found this place called “Chocolat Restaurant Lounge” and ate there. The food was really good and our waiter was really friendly.

Next, we went to Central Park. The last time we were there, I remember that we entered from the East side of the Park, wherein the Zoo was located. Now, we got in from the West side, and we passed by The Lake with a view of Rainbow Bridge, a bridge that has been seen in a lot of films.

We also saw Bethseda Terrace, a part of the park.

One of the parts of Central Park that my dad wanted to see was The Mall. It is a famous path in Central Park where lots of famous movie scenes were set. Luckily, despite how big the park is, we were able to see it and take some photos!

We got out of Central park in the late afternoon so the American Musuem of Natural History was already closed. However, we still decided to pass by and look at the entrance.

Afterwards, my cousin took me around the Upper West Side to buy some cream puffs and macarons.Β Then, they helped us check in our hotel. We stayed at the New York Marriott Marquis which was at Times Square. The hotel was really nice and I really loved our room because the view was Times Square!

Afterwards, we went out to eat dinner at Pizzarte New York. The food was really good as well. Overall, it was a fun day at New York. We got to see a lot of places and do a lot of things. Stay tuned for my next posts!
