Gorilla in Manila

Bruno Mars singing his final song “Gorilla”

Just the Way You Are, Grenade and Locked Out of Heaven are just some of the hits that this guy has made. And once again Manila had an amazing opportunity when he performed at the Mall of Asia Arena last March 22. This guy is Bruno Mars and he brought his treasure here in the country as he performed at the said sold out concert as part of the Asian leg of his Moonshine Jungle Tour.

I was lucky that I got tickets to see him as his ticket prices are not that cheap. I was happily seated at the Lower Box Section of the Arena alongside my parents, who were fans of Bruno Mars as well. His front act Poreotics (they were the monkeys in the Lazy Song music video!) was a real crowd pleaser and they were good dancers as well. They really energized the crowd since they already arrived at 9:30 pm even though the concert was scheduled to start at 8. And finally after around 2 hours of waiting the man that everyone was waiting for finally took center stage. With Bruno’s soulful voice and sexy dance moves that made the crowd scream, the 2 hour wait was definitely worth it. I would also like to salute the talented tour band, back up singers/dancers and the wonderful production staff who made all those freaking amazing effects possible. (Seriously, the fireworks and strobe lights were da bomb.)

Overall I had a blast during the concert since I was also able to support one of my favorite male singers who I happen to share the same blood with. (Bruno’s half Filipino!). It was a really great experience and I hope that he comes back to the country soon. So if Bruno Mars is going to your country, make sure to book a ticket because I swear, when that man sings he’s like a gorilla. (Seriously.)
